Nigeria Turning into Killing Field of Dead Christians

And so I ask my local NL Muslim neighbours “Why are your people killing my people?

I fear they will have no answer really, other than perhaps to deny they had anything to do with such violence and then to accuse me of Islamophobia.

So what accountability is there, what recourse to justice is there, in Islam, the wonderful “religion of peace” for those who are clearly the victims of that ideology, or for those loved ones left behind?

The attack yesterday saw two suicide bombers ram their car into the bus station in Kano, Nigeria’s second largest city, setting off a huge explosion that hit five buses, police spokesman Magaji Majia told AFP.

A rescue official said late today that the attack left 41 people dead, while Majia said 65 were injured.

Growing Epidemic of Muslim Persecution of Christians

Looking over the news of the day, I notice a good number of stories relate to persecution of Christians by Muslims. It’s quite incredible and shocking how much death, destruction and persecution is spawned daily In the Name of Allah. Western society likes to give everyone the benefit of the doubt—it’s the practical application of I Cor. 13—and generally is reluctant to brand Islam as a violent religion but let’s keep our eyes open, continue with the debate and not fool ourselves!

The greatest outrage today appears to be the devastating torching of 170 Christian homes by a Muslim mob in Pakistan. Note that this frenzy was triggered by alleged insults to Mohammed, which only proves that anti-blasphemy laws, for which Islamic organizations worldwide are agitating, will change nothing. In fact we see that anti-blasphemy laws are often excuses to attack other religious groups.

Hundreds of Christians clashed with police across Pakistan on Sunday, a day after a Muslim mob burned dozens of homes owned by members of the minority religious group in retaliation for alleged insults against Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

Christians are often the target of Pakistan’s harsh blasphemy laws, which rights activists say are frequently used to persecute religious minorities or settle personal disputes. Politicians have been reluctant to reform the laws for fear of being attacked by religious radicals, as has happened in the past.

“In our tolerant society, too many are saying that Christians are getting what’s coming to them,” Kenney said. “This is a new form of blood libel. It must be repudiated at every opportunity. There are more Christians persecuted around the world than any other group by orders of magnitude.”

I fully agree here with recent remarks by Minister Jason Kenney. He is taking very courageous steps for a politician of our day. The political correctness and downright dangerous ideologies of other top Western politicians, most notably President Barack Obama, in regard to worldwide Christian persecution is unconscionable. Do we (the West) hate our religious roots and tradition so much that we turn a blind eye to the increasing plight of the world’s Christians—while pandering to Islam—or are we altogether ignorant of our civilizational history?
